Overview
The Training Visa (Subclass 407) allows eligible applicants to participate in
structured workplace-based training in Australia to improve skills for their job, area of tertiary study,
field of expertise or professional development. The visa is suitable for employer-sponsored training programs and
professional capacity-building initiatives.
This visa is not for general employment. The training must be clearly structured, documented and aligned to an approved
training plan lodged by an Australian sponsor. The visa is generally granted for the duration of the training program
(up to around 2 years, depending on the approved nomination).

Nomination Types (Subclass 407)

There are three nomination types under the Training Visa (Subclass 407):
1) Training Required for Registration
For applicants who require workplace training to meet professional registration or licensing requirements in Australia
(e.g., health professionals, regulated trades).
2) Training to Improve Skills in an Eligible Occupation
